Equitable Distribution
Instead of requiring a 50/50 split of marital assets, equitable distribution takes into account the economic circumstances of each spouse.  With equitable distribution, it is hard to predict the outcome because there are so numerous factors taken into consideration during resolution talks.

Child Custody
Child Custody has to do with the legal relationship between a legal guardian and a child, such as the right of the guardian to make decisions for the child, and the guardian’s duty to care for the child.

Child Support
Child Support is a periodic payment made by a non-custodial parent to a custodial parent, caregiver or guardian, or the government, for the care and support of children that said non-custodial parent is legal obligated to support.

Child Visitation
Visitation is a term given to the law that denotes the level of contact a parent or other significant person in a child's life can have with that child.

Alimony
Alimony is a legal monetary agreement between separated or divorced couples, in which one spouse makes regular payments to the other spouse. Only a couple that has been legally married can have a spouse seeking alimony. Cases involving non-married couples seeking support is called palimony.

Paternity
Paternity is the legal recognition of the parental bond between a man and a child typically based on numerous factors including DNA testing and marriage. To resolve the paternity of a child from one or several possible fathers, a party may ask the court to determine paternity of said child.
